Employment
Operations Manager
We are seeking an Operations Manager to join our leadership team and play a critical role in overseeing the behind-the-scenes operations of our church. This is a unique opportunity for someone who is passionate about making sure great systems and processes are in place to support our vision of being a redemptive community, sharing the love of Christ in the world by word, sign and deed; helping people become lifelong followers of Jesus.
You will be a great people manager and leader, a strategic thinker, able to hold both the big picture and the details and have lived experience of being part of a church. You will ideally have experience in allocation of resources and assessing the effectiveness of this by way of KPIs or similar. You will be comfortable leading experts in their fields of finance, property, IT, communications and human resources, as well as developing less experienced staff.
You will be responsible for ensuring legal compliance is maintained, resources are appropriately allocated and good stewardship of our assets. This is a 30 hour per week role, worked Monday to Friday.

Café Manager - The Living Room
Are you someone with a passion for serving people, creating an inviting space for groups to gather, and a love for coffee and good kai?
We are seeking a café manager for the Living Room, a central space at the Lyttelton St site where relationships are nurtured through hospitality and fellowship. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with fresh ideas and passion to take what is currently a well utilised and loved space and grow it supporting the vision of the church.
In this role you will manage people, including volunteers, be responsible for café operations and management, and serve our communities. You will be a great host, with a love for people and hospitality. You will be passionate about serving local communities, facilitating nurturing environments and ensuring the smooth running of the day to day in the café. You will ideally have experience in food safety and barista skills, but that is not essential, and training can be offered on site.

Youth Worker - Christchurch South Karamata Intermediate
Are you passionate about working with young people and seeing them thrive?
SYC is on the lookout for an enthusiastic Youth Worker to serve in one of our local schools, Christchurch South Karamata Intermediate. This role offers exciting and varied opportunities supporting students and staff to build relationships, develop leaders, cultivate school spirit and help students become involved in their wider community. Offering 10 hours per week, this role would suit someone studying, already working part-time, or who requires flexible hours during the school terms.
No formal training or qualification required to begin.

Volunteering
Sunday Gatherings Volunteers
Would you like to be part of a team that welcomes people and ushers them to seats at our Sunday gatherings once a month? Or part of our communion set up team? If you’re keen, contact Warren.
We are currently looking for groups or individual volunteers to help with setting up and packing away the chairs in our Lyttelton St site Gym before and after our Sunday morning gathering. Get in touch with Matt if you can help.
If you’d like to be involved with our Sunday gatherings in any other way, get in touch with Sam. We’re especially looking for stage managers and computer operators at the moment! Full training provided.
SYC Youth Leaders
Our SYC crew are always on the lookout for more volunteer youth leaders to journey alongside our rangatahi. To find out more about this contact Sandy.
Fancy footwork?
Our Foot Clinic caters for older folk who are in need of help with their toenails. They’re treated to a relaxing foot spa and a cuppa before having their toenails trimmed and a luxurious foot massage to finish with. There’s some great chat and friendships and often opportunities to encourage & pray for each other. We are looking for someone to help with filling and emptying the foot spas at our Cobham St Hall Foot Clinic. We meet every third Monday morning from 9.15am to about 12 noon. Van Drivers
Tuesday Christian Fellowship have a roster of volunteer van drivers - this would involve a fortnightly or monthly commitment. If you would like to consider this, then please email Andy. Thank you!
